Although retired, one of the owners was a builder by trade and his son was also a builder. \u201cWorkmanship was very important, along with location.\u201d Having been together for more than five decades, the couple were quite clear about what they wanted in their new home. \u201cWe wanted a \u2018special\u2019 home and we were keen to be within easy walking distance of the Merivale restaurants and cafes.\u201d<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col col-12 col-md-4\">\n      <p>At almost 650 square metres, the expansive two storey home provides fabulous indoor and outdoor living for the owners, their friends and their family. The coveted four car garage is ideal for their car collection. A large gas fire is pride of place and adds ambience during the winter months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fire is really only for atmosphere and decoration\u201d say the owners. \u201cThe home is fabulously warm during winter and cool in the summer with a sophisticated yet simple air-conditioning system. The designer and builders have thought of everything. When we moved in, we were continually surprised by special features that this home offers.\u201d<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col col-12 col-md-4\">\n      <p>Storage is extensive with numerous large cupboards throughout, fitted out with customised shelving. In the ensuite bathrooms, heated mirrors ensure steam is no problem. The skylight windows are operated by automated control systems and provide airflow in rooms on the upper level. A bedroom adjacent to the master has a glass wall into the hallway. Although not necessary for the current owners, the room is an ideal nursery, offering in-room views without disturbing a sleeping baby.<\/p>\n<p>As the first-time occupants of the home, a few minor issues were experienced \u2013 small adjustments and movements typical of any new home. The response of the DJ Hewitt team has been swift and effective. \u201cThere have been a few minor things we have noticed that need remediating. Any minor thing, we have just called, and they have been right on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very pleased with the result. The home is well suited to us and our lifestyle.
